I continue to look forwad to opportunities to perform., When I moved to San Diego I received strong reviews playing the lead role of Anna in Paula Vogel’s Baltimore Waltzat the Fritz Theatre. My interests in Asian Theatre and puppetry have led me to take training and workshops in these traditions. I continued acting in college and graduate school and with John Blanckenship’s Festival Theatre USA summer repertory company at the Edinburgh Theatre Festival and in graduate school playing roles such as Emma in Sam Shepherd’s Curse of the Starving Class, Jason in March of the Falsettos (UK Premiere), Woodstock in the musical Snoopy! The Countess Rousillion in Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well, The Woman in Beckett’s one-person play Rockabye, and in The Good Person of Szetchuan under the direction of Frank Congdon and Labiche’s The Affair of the Rue de Lourcine under the direction of Carl Weber, and many others. We did original musicals commmissioned for the company of young performers by renknown theatre professionals, notably Elizabeth Swados’ Incredible Feeling Show, Richard Peaslee’s Children’s Crusade, and Charles Strouse’s Nightingale. We also performed with Broadway stars at special events and in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I later became a member of The First All Children’s Theatre, under the direction of Meridee Stein. I began acting as a child in performances at New York’s Theatre for the New City ,in plays such as Barbara Garson’s Obie Award winning Dinosaur Door, Arthur Sainer’s Carol in Winter Sunlight, and in the company’s summer street theatre productions. ![]()
